Music Fuels My Body, Awakens My Mind, and Soothes My Soul
My journey with music began at the age of 13 when my best friends and I played "airinstruments" while jamming to "The Yes Album" until late into the night.
Eight years later, at 21, I joined my first real band as the lead singer. As a child, I learned to play the piano from my grandmother and participated in dance recitals and church performances. All of my bands were Rock & Roll, with a special fondness for progressive groups like Yes, Kansas, Styx, Boston, and Rush. Over my lifetime, I played in eight different bands, with the last two giving me the chance to play guitar, keys, and percussion. I also enjoyed writing songs that reflected my life experiences.

Holes In Our Cheese
This song is a heartfelt tribute to my husband, who passed away over seven years ago. It weaves our shared life into a rich tapestry of metaphors, using cheese and wine to symbolize the depth of our connection. Mark, let’s toast to the effervescent memories we created together. You will forever hold a piece of my heart. Cheers!

Being in a band isn't as glamorous as it might seem. It's hard work, filled with hours of practice, occasional disputes over song arrangements, frustrations with sound technicians, and the effort of transporting heavy equipment and setting it up. The financial rewards aren't great either; we typically made about $50 a night for ten hours of work, which is less than minimum wage.
However, when the lights came on, I felt a rush of excitement. I loved how each song came together, blending vocally and instrumentally. I had a blast on stage, pouring my heart into every performance, especially when friends came out to support me. There's nothing quite like getting lost in the music, closing my eyes, and savoring every note. Music has been a magical part of my healing journey, providing me with an escape from stress, a sense of accomplishment, and a significant boost to my self- esteem.
